New Info For Consignors and Volunteers!
As always, we continuously strive to make this sale better. And every year we try to work towards that goal.
***AS OF 07/24/2018–ALL CONSIGNOR REGISTRATIONS WILL BE MOVED TO 1PM. Volunteer Consignor registration will now be: August 5 at 1pm. Regular Consignor registration will be: August 12th @1pm.***
***Fall 2018: We WILL offer a $1 rack this sale. Any items that are marked as $1 that are not sold at the end of the day on Saturday will be automatically donated. These items will NOT be sorted to return to consignor.
***WE DO allow you to use tags you may have printed from previous sales. This is OK!!
*******CHANGE IN REGISTRATION DATES/TIMES: Beginning with the SPRING 2018 SALE, we will be RETURNING TO SEPARATE REGISTRATION DATES FOR VOLUNTEERS AND CONSIGNORS! We will open the portal on SUNDAY, JANUARY 21ST at 4pm for VOLUNTEER/CONSIGNORS. (These slots are reserved for the first 300 people who are willing to volunteer a minimum of 2 hours at the sale.) We will open the portal again on SUNDAY, JANUARY 28TH at 4pm for NON-VOLUNTEERING CONSIGNORS to register. (These slots are reserved for the first 200 people who are consigning WITHOUT the volunteer commitment.) Shopping times during the sale will REMAIN STAGGERED based on the amount of time you volunteer. The more hours you volunteer, the earlier you shop! For specific shopping times, CLICK HERE.
****PICK UP AND PAY: We now do drive thru pick up. PICK UP AND PAY IS ON SATURDAY from 7pm-9pm!! All items not picked up by 9pm will be donated to charity.
OPEN LATER ON FRIDAY: We have extended our public sale hours on Friday night until 7pm, so that those who don’t get off work until 5pm can still come and shop the sale.
NEW CONSIGNOR SHOP TIME: As you know, all donated items go towards helping Trussville Ecumenical Assistive Ministry (TEAM). This year we are going to try to increase donations. We are offering any consignor who would like put DONATE on all of their items the opportunity to shop 30 minutes before consignor shopping starts. Also, if you donate all your unsold items AND you allow us to mail your check, we will give you a $5.00 Gift Certificate good for the next sale!
Here are the rules:
• Must have DONATE written in the top right hand corner of the tags on ALL items. (we realize that you may have a few high ticket items that you would like back. You can come at 1:30pm on Saturday during 50% off and get up to 3 items that you would like back. You must find your own items and go through the checkout line to take them home).
• You MUST let the person who is checking you in during drop off know that you plan to donate everything, so that our check in crew will check your items to make sure they say donate. You will be given a special pass to get in at 3:30pm on Thursday to shop. This will admit one person, and ABSOLUTELY no entry without the pass. It is your responsibility to make sure you have the pass before you leave drop off. If you do not have the pass, no passes will be given after you leave.
ITEMS MISSING PIECES or BROKEN: We have had a problem with items being sold that are missing pieces or do not work. This is a problem for everyone because it gives our sale a bad name, and will cause people to be cautious about everything they buy. This is not fair to the consignors who double check everything before they consign. For that reason, we have added a new return policy for items that are not working or missing pieces.
1.) Item must be missing pieces or not working. Item must have been packed in a way that it was impossible to “check” before it was purchased. Example: Game system that needed to be hooked to a TV or DVD that was taped up and was scratched.
2.) Must be returned by Noon on the Saturday of the sale (all sales final, from Noon – 2pm)
3.) Must have the consignor’s tag with it.
As has been stated repeatedly about consigning at our sale, consignors are required to make sure that all pieces are there and the items are in working order. Unfortunately, every year we receive items that should not be sold. For that reason, we have created a return fee. If you consign something that does not work or is missing pieces and it is returned to us, we will refund the original cost of the item to the purchaser, remove the 70% you received, AND we will charge you a 30% return fee. We are hoping that this will ensure that all consignors check their items before consigning.
DON’T WAIT, DONATE: If you don’t want to wait for us to check your items, you now have the option to donate them. Just tell the person who checks you in that you want to donate all items that were “too well loved” to charity and you can be on your way a whole lot faster.
Just a reminder: RECALLED ITEMS are never allowed. Please check to make sure that your items have not been recalled. Here is a great website to check it out. www.Wemakeitsafer.com. Just a reminder about what some restrictions we have on accepted items. These restrictions are made to stay in compliance with the Consumer Product Safety Commission:
We only accept cribs manufactured after June 2012.
We no longer accept crib bumpers.
No children’s jewelry at all.
No baby bath seats manufactured before 2011 (if they have suction cups or are missing a warning label, it was probably manufactured before 2011)
No clothing with drawstrings (in waist or neck). Drawstrings can be cut off and we will accept.
